Can you imagine what this scene is? You may think it as a part of office building or spaceship. To be honest, I couldn't belive my eyes at first sight. It looks the giant, spacious atrium as you see. Yeah, it's about time to answer. The answer is Station!!! ...Oh, sorry. If you're not Japanese, you probably don't know what Shibuya is. The name "Shibuya" is used to refer to the central business district of Shibuya Ward, which surrounds Shibuya Station, one of Tokyo's busiest railway stations. Shibuya is known as one of the fashion centers of Japan, particularly for young people, and as a major nightlife area. Anyway, this station has not only great view but also various environmentally friendly system. One example is the use of a ventilation system that harnesses the structure's air flow. The hot exhaust from trains rises and flows out of the atrium, while cool air from the outside is dragged in. And also a radiant cooling system that uses cooling tubes to circulate cold water beneath the platform floor and inside the ceiling. If you come Japan, you should go to Shibuya and enter this station. You'll definitely feel comfortable and being in spaceship.First picture is top view of the Shibuya crossing.
